# Robinhood's August crypto volume rebounds to $17.5 billion, still below last year

Trading increased at both the Robinhood app and Bitstamp, but each business remained below August 2025 levels.

Robinhood reported $17.5 billion in cryptocurrency trading volume for August 2026, a 61% increase from July and a 38% decline from a year earlier, according to its September 10 operating update. July's volume was $10.9 billion; August 2025 recorded $28.1 billion. The Robinhood app contributed $7.4 billion, up 72% month over month but down 46% year over year. Bitstamp handled $10.1 billion, rising 53% from July while remaining 30% below the previous August. Daily trading volume followed the same pattern. The app averaged $239 million per day and Bitstamp averaged $326 million. Robinhood lists 31 crypto trading days for each comparison month, so the monthly rebound did not depend on a longer reporting period. The figures describe trading activity across the app and Bitstamp. Robinhood Chain volumes are excluded.
