The government confirmed permission for order handling, custody and staking, while international target markets and rollout dates remain unannounced.

Revolut announced on October 19 that Revolut Global Digital Assets Limited, or RGDAL, has received authorization as a distributed ledger technology provider from the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission. The company plans to use the permission to support further international crypto expansion.

Gibraltar’s government [confirmed the grant](https://www.gibraltar.gov.gi/press-releases/government-of-gibraltar-welcomes-revoluts-full-resumption-of-customer-onboarding-in-gibraltar-and-new-regulatory-permission-7962026-12475) in a separate statement that day. It identified permission under Part 7 of the Financial Services Act covering the transmission and execution of virtual-asset orders, custody of virtual assets and staking services.

Those categories describe the activities covered by the permission. The announcements leave the country-by-country delivery plan open: Revolut said it would announce the target regions and service rollouts supported by RGDAL later. A spokesperson also told [Cointelegraph](https://cointelegraph.com/news/revolut-secures-gibraltar-crypto-license-to-support-global-expansion) that specific countries and launch timelines had not been disclosed.

Revolut’s [company announcement](https://www.revolut.com/news/revolut_receives_crypto_licence_authorisation_in_gibraltar_fueling_further_expansion/) distinguishes its existing regional operations. It says Revolut Ltd provides crypto services in the United Kingdom, while Revolut Digital Assets Europe Ltd serves the European Economic Area under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets framework. The Gibraltar authorization belongs to RGDAL; the release presents that entity as supporting additional international expansion.

The government statement also reported that Revolut had fully resumed onboarding Gibraltar residents to its electronic-money and payments app. It said new local customers could again open accounts and access the group’s services. That resumption is a separately described operational change in the announcement.

October 19 is the date of the public announcements; neither states a separate formal issue date for the permission. They do not identify which additional countries will receive RGDAL’s crypto services first, or when those services will become available there.
