Accuracy matters after publication as well as before it. Readers and sources can request a correction to a factual statement or flag missing context.

Requesting a correction

Send the article URL, quote the disputed passage, explain the proposed correction and include supporting primary material when available. Clearly distinguish a factual error from a disagreement with an interpretation.

Correction standard

A substantive correction should identify what was wrong and what changed. If the evidence no longer supports an article, withdrawal may be appropriate. A later development is different from an error in the original report and should be labelled as an update or linked follow-up.

Requests require assessment against the evidence. We do not promise a response time or treat every request as proof that an article is wrong.
