The Federal Reserve raised its policy-rate target by a quarter percentage point to 3.75%-4% on September 16. All 12 voting members supported the decision, according to the FOMC statement.

The committee described inflation as still elevated. It also reported resilient domestic spending, strong productivity and investment, and little change in unemployment. The statement linked the increase to returning inflation to the central bank's 2% objective.

Bitcoin's first reaction

Decrypt reported that Bitcoin briefly reached about $76,000 after the announcement. Its account also described rapid reversals, making that level an intraday observation rather than a closing price or a sustained rally.

The report put pre-decision odds of a hike at 93%, citing CME FedWatch. A widely anticipated policy move and a volatile immediate price response can coexist; the rebound alone does not establish that higher rates are favorable for Bitcoin.

For earlier fund-flow context, Bitcoin and Ether ETFs moved in opposite directions during the previous reporting week. That separate period should not be confused with flows following this Fed decision.
