Zcash rose about 23% over a 24-hour period into September 17's Asian morning session, according to CoinDesk's market report. Its snapshot put ZEC near $1,369, compared with Bitcoin's gain of less than 1% to roughly $76,258.

The difference made Zcash a standout within a broader recovery. These are figures from that reporting window, rather than live quotes or closing prices.

Privacy attention alongside the rally

CoinDesk reported that Paradigm co-founder Matt Huang disclosed the firm's ZEC holdings and discussed Zcash as a privacy-focused complement to Bitcoin. The timing connects the comments to the market narrative, but does not establish how much buying they caused.

The advance followed the Federal Reserve's September rate increase. Zcash's much larger move also shows why a single macro explanation is incomplete: major coins shared the monetary backdrop but recorded substantially different returns.
